One of the UK’s longest printing presses has
been installed in Leeds at the newly built factory
of Roberts Mart & Co.
Manufactured by the global suppliers of printed
packaging machinery, Fischer & Krecke, the new
press, model 26S, which has a 10 colour capability
and measures 27 metres long, is worth £2.1m
and is part of an £8.74m investment by Roberts
Mart.
The printing press is capable of widths up to 1300mm
and reels up to 1000mm diameter and can accommodate
all types of packaging materials from 10-120 microns,
films, foils and papers, at 460 metres per minute.
The company is involved in the household, textile,
retail and healthcare industries, and hopes its
latest addition will attract blue chip companies,
particularly in the food and drink sector.
