After more than 120 years at the same location in Leeds, UK market leader in household textile packaging Roberts Mart is to move next year to a large purpose built, state-of-the-art factory nearby. The seven acre site at Thornes Farm will house an 80,000ft factory with 20,000ft of Office space.
The move is due to be followed by BRC/IOP accreditation, making the new premises "one of the most hygienic and environmentally friendly factories in the country".
The company also plans major investment in machinery, and anticipates a possible expansion of its 120 strong workforce. "The start of work on the new factory is the culmination of more than 10 years of discussion and planning," say the Chairman and Managing Director John Roberts.
